Cinnamon spice, in addition an even split of brandy and gin, make this wintry French 75 riff in particular warming.
½ oz. brandy
½ oz. gin
½ oz. clean lemon juice
½ oz. cinnamon syrup (1:1)
Glowing wine, to top
Equipment: shaker, strainer
Blend the very first 4 ingredients in a shaker and shake with ice to chill. Pressure into a chilled coupe and leading with glowing wine.
Cinnamon Syrup: Blend 1 cup of h2o and 1 cinnamon stick (broken with a muddler) in a pot and carry to a simmer. After 10 minutes insert fresh water to return the sum to 1 cup and add 1 cup of sugar. Stir to integrate the ingredients, then get rid of from warmth as soon as the sugar dissolves. Strain the cinnamon out of the blend, then bottle and refrigerate for up to 2 months.
