Enjoy a nutritionally balanced and kid friendly family meal with this easy pizza dinner recipe.

Pizza Dinner Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 cup dairy sour cream (8oz,250ml)

  • 1 envelope spaghetti sauce mix (1½oz, 43g)

  • 1 can tomato paste (5½oz, 156ml)

  • ½ Tablespoon Italian herbs and spice seasoning

  • 1 yellow sweet bell pepper, seeded and chopped

  • 1½ cups sliced fresh mushrooms

  • 4 green onions, chopped

  • 3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)

  • Garlic bread loaf (15inch)

  • 2½ to 3 cups of shredded mozzarella-cheddar blend cheese

How the pizza dinner is made:

  • Pre-heat oven to 425F

  • In boiling water, cook broccoli florets until tender crisp

  • brown ground beef and drain off any excess fat

  • In a large bowl add ground beef, sour cream, tomatoe paste, spaghetti sauce mix and Italian herbs and spice seasoning

  • Mix well

  • Place garlic bread loaf on a cookie sheet open faced

  • Place in the oven for approximately 5 minutes - just long enough to melt the butter

  • Remove from oven

  • Spread meat sauce mixture over both halves of garlic bread

  • Sprinkle half the cheese over meat sauce mixture

  • Now add a layer of sliced mushrooms, chopped yellow pepper and green onions

  • Next place broccoli florets evenly over top

  • Finally, sprinkle remaining cheese evenly over all

  • Place in the oven on center rack and bake for 15 to 20 minutes - until all the cheese has melted

  • Remove from oven

  • Cut into slices and serve
