Pieces of chocolate butter toffee crunch

An easy candy recipe for chocolate covered butter toffee.

What you'll need yo make this chocolate butter toffee...

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb frozen butter - must be frozen and no margarine

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1/4 cup cold water

  • 2 tbsp corn syrup

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

How the chocolate butter toffee is made...

Directions:

  • Put frozen butter into heavy frying pan and after it starts to melt a while, add other ingredients and cook until it turns a slightly darker color and becomes more of a solid blob than a liquid

  • This is hard to describe and will take some time

  • Should be around the consistency of soft peanutbutter - if that helps

  • Pour onto large, greased cookie sheet

  • Melt chocolate chips in microwave at 25 second intervals and stir between each heating - until chips are smooth and spreadable

  • Spread melted chocolate on top of toffee

  • Set in fridge until completely cooled

  • Break into pieces

  • This recipe freezes well
