Cheesy Beef & Cabbage Bake

This easy beef and cabbage recipe is a wonderful alternative to traditional cabbage rolls and makes a great easy dinner for the entire family.

What you'll need to make this beef and cabbage bake...

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 8 cups chopped cabbage - approximately 1/2 large cabbage (To make this dinner even easier use shredded bagged cabbage)

  • 2 (10oz) cans of condensed tomato and rice soup

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

How the beef and cabbage dinner is made:

  • Pre heat oven to 350F

  • Brown ground beef and drain off any excess fat

  • In a large mixing bowl add the ground beef and cabbage

  • In another bowl add sour cream, tomato and rice soup, mozzarella, salt, pepper and water and stir well

  • Add the cream mixture to the beef and cabbage

  • Stir and toss until all the cabbage is well coated

  • Place the cabbage mixture into a 13 x 9 inch baking pan

  • Cover the top with tin foil

  • Bake for 1/2 hour and then remove and stir

  • Cover and place back in oven for another 1/2 hour

  • Remove once again and top with cheddar cheese

  • Place back into oven uncovered for 5 to 10 minutes or until all the cheese is melted

  • Remove and serve on a bed of rice

  • Makes 6 to 8 servings

  • Total baking time: 1 hr and 10 minutes
