Easy Low Fat Banana Bread

What you'll need to make this banana bread...

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 5 medium bananas mashed

  • 2 tsp baking soda

  • 4 large eggs or 6 large egg whites

  • 1/c cup Becel margarine

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce

  • 1 cup brown sugar packed

  • 4 tbsp Splenda

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour

  • 3 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • non-stick cooking spray

How the banana bread is made...

Directions:

  • In medium bowl mash bananas with baking soda

  • Set aside

  • In small bowl beat eggs with fork until blended

  • In large bowl cream margarine, sugars and apple sauce

  • Add eggs and mashed bananas

  • Mix well

  • Add flour, baking powder and salt

  • Mix well

  • Spray 2 loaf pans with non-stick cooking spray

  • Divide batter evenly between pans

  • Bake at 350F for 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out completely clean

  • Store covered in fridge

  • Makes 2 loaves or 48 muffins

  • Try adding some chocolate chips or chopped walnuts for a different taste

  • Freezes well
